Why is Liveedit migrating to Cloudflare?

At liveedit, we're committed to continuously improving the security and performance of our platform. As part of this effort, we're moving our hosting infrastructure to Cloudflare, a leading cloud-based security and performance provider.


It's important to note that this is a change to how your site is hosted with our platform, not to your website content itself. Your site's design, content, and functionality will all stay the same. You won't need to do anything differently, and your visitors won't notice any difference, aside from a faster, more secure experience behind the scenes.


What do I need to do to migrate my domain?

We've emailed you your unique DNS records. The migration involves adding these records with your domain provider. The easiest way to get this done is to contact your provider's support team and ask them to add the records for you. Can't find the email? Just submit a ticket, and we'll resend it.


FAQs

What happens if I don't migrate by the deadline? 

Your domain will no longer be connected to your liveedit website. However, your liveedit website will still be accessible from your built-in liveedit URL. You can complete both phases after the deadline to reconnect your domain. 


Will my monthly subscription cost change?

Our monthly subscription costs are not changing at this time. 


I have multiple domains?

We recommend only migrating your primary domain. For your other domains, add a redirect (also called forwarding) that points the extra domain to your primary domain in your domain provider settings. 


What happens to my SSL certificate? 

SSL certificates are automatically set up for all domains connected to our Cloudflare hosting.


I have a new domain I wish to connect. What do I do first?

Please submit a ticket, and our team will provide your unique DNS records.


Cloudflare Migration Appointment

Liveedit doesn't host domain names, so we aren't able to directly change DNS records on our end. However, we can help walk you through the changes over a Zoom meeting. 


Before you book:

  • Join from a computer, not a phone or tablet. We'll need you to share your screen so we can guide you through each DNS change step by step.
  • Make sure you can log in to your domain provider account. Without access, we won't be able to help you add the DNS records.
